Yon Motskin wrote and directed THE CUTMAN, a 35mm short film which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival when he was 24. Executive produced by the Oscar-nominated filmmaker D.A. Pennebaker, the film won numerous Best Film and Best Director awards and has screened at nearly fifty festivals worldwide, including Tribeca and SxSW. Currently, Motskin is developing several feature films, including the atomic spy thriller ETHEL for Landscape Entertainment. He was invited to the Screenwriters Colony in 2006 for his feature adaptation of National Book Award finalist Dan Chaon’s short story I DEMAND TO KNOW WHERE YOU’RE TAKING ME, and has also directed primetime network television for NBC, FOX and ABC. Born in Toronto to Russian-Jewish immigrants, Motskin studied at McGill University and received his B.F.A. from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife Michal Shemesh, a film editor, and son Roman, a baby.
